Travis Mayweather goes home to the cargo ship where he grew up, to find his family changed and his brother struggling in the captain's chair.
Red alert: the full plot, ending included. Haven't watched yet?REVEAL SYNOPSIS
Enterprise's course takes it near the ECS Horizon, the cargo ship on which Travis Mayweather grew up, and he is given leave to visit. His father has died some weeks before, and the reunion is bittersweet. His brother Paul is now acting captain and resents Travis's suggestions, including ideas for improving the ship's defences. When the Horizon is attacked by aliens who have planted a tracking device on its hull, Paul chooses to flee and surrender cargo rather than fight. The attackers return and demand the ship itself. Finally Paul agrees to Travis's modifications, they separate the command module from the cargo, and together they disable the alien ship. The brothers reconcile, and Travis promises to come back. Meanwhile, aboard Enterprise, Tucker hosts a Frankenstein film night, and T'Pol finds the films unexpectedly revealing about early human attitudes towards Vulcans.
- 01Anthony Montgomery worked all seven days of filming, while most of the main cast worked only the first three.
- 02Filming revisited the low-gravity “sweet spot” at the centre of Enterprise, last seen in “Broken Bow”.
- 03The Horizon was a computer-generated cargo ship of a similar type to the one seen in season one's “Fortunate Son”.
