Red alert: the full plot, ending included. Haven't watched yet?REVEAL SYNOPSIS
Kor, the ageing Klingon hero, comes to Worf with a request: a posting that will let him die in battle rather than of old age. General Martok, a commoner who rose through the ranks, refuses, holding an old grudge against the aristocratic Kor. Worf goes around him and makes Kor third officer of Martok's flagship, the Ch'Tang. Kor's stories delight the crew, but in the heat of combat his memory fails him and his confusion puts the ship at risk, leaving him humiliated and facing a quiet retirement. Then ten Dominion ships pursue the Klingon fleet, and Worf prepares to hold them off himself in what will be a suicide mission. Kor sedates Worf and takes his place, and in a single ship he delays the enemy long enough for the fleet to escape, finally earning the warrior's death he wanted.
