News arrives that Morn, the most loyal customer at Quark's bar, has died in an ion storm, and to Quark's surprise he has left his entire estate to him. At first it looks worthless, but soon a series of strangers turn up with claims on the inheritance: a woman who says she was Morn's wife, two brothers insisting he owed them money, and a man claiming to be a security officer. Quark discovers that Morn had a fortune in latinum hidden away. It emerges that all four visitors took part in a bank robbery with Morn years earlier and have waited for the statute of limitations to run out. Quark brokers a deal to share the money, but the thieves turn on each other and Odo arrests them, and the stolen bars prove to be worthless. Then Morn walks into the bar alive, having faked his death, and repays Quark with latinum he had kept hidden in his second stomach.
- 01Writer Mark Gehred-O'Connell kept the joke that Morn never speaks on screen by keeping Morn absent for most of his own episode.
- 02René Echevarria rewrote the script, changing the premise from a search for a missing Morn to his apparent death.
- 03Gregory Itzin, who plays Krit, had earlier played Ilon Tandro in the first-season episode “Dax”.
