After an accident, Sisko begins having visions that may come from the Prophets, just as Bajor stands on the brink of joining the Federation.
Red alert: the full plot, ending included. Haven't watched yet?REVEAL SYNOPSIS
Sisko becomes fascinated by a painting of B'hala, a legendary lost Bajoran city, and is determined to find it. A holosuite accident overloads his brain, leaving his senses sharpened, and he begins to experience visions he believes come from the Prophets. Guided by them, he finds the ruins of B'hala, with Kasidy Yates, newly released from prison, at his side. But the visions grow more intense and more dangerous. Sisko foresees locusts swarming over Cardassia, and warns that Bajor will be destroyed if it joins the Federation now. On his word, the Bajorans postpone their admission. The visions are killing him, yet Sisko refuses surgery, unwilling to give up his connection to the Prophets. In the end Jake authorises the operation to save his father's life. Sisko recovers, but has to come to terms with losing his visions for good.
